“Great location, Nice Community, An apartment ready to move in”

Rating: 5 of 5 stars

IMG_6056So close to the best beach and dozens of the coolest restaurants and places to go so near by. I liked how quiet it was considering it was in the heart of all the best entertainment and most popular part of town. Plus it is a residence building not a hotel.

The salt water pool was incredible. Love that you can swim laps without goggles. Going to be hard to go into a chlorinated pool ever again. Our apartment was bright, very clean and well appointed. I like that the apartment was very practical and still felt like Mexico with hand painted tiles, sinks and not like you were in a sterile granite condo in the US or Canada. Full kitchen. 2 baths! Good water pressure. Purified water. Met some very warm, interesting and informative people who live in the building year round. Not a noisy, party place. If you are looking for a tourist hotel or how do I say this nicely… “dating scene” or family pool scene… this is not that kind of place. This is a good place for quiet, sensible people who like to feel at home when they travel and have the amenities of an apartment. Looked very well maintained by the one premise owners.

Very strong WiFi and cable so I was able to stay long term again and keep doing remote work in paradise! Free long distance, too. As a woman, traveling often alone, I felt extremely safe.

Next door is Art Vallarta, an art studio and cooking school with inviting classes and space to paint and make ceramic art. Galleries, farmers markets, the pier is close by too. Transportation all over town so close. Like the creativity and beauty of this area. You get to feel private and not stranded like you do out at the large hotels and newer parts of town. This area has great character, lovely beach and attracts cool friendly people. This is a great place to stay and one of the best values for long term in Puerto Vallarta Romantic Zone!

“Just the right distance to the beach and cafes!”

“Home away from home.”

I wanted to be in the heart of old town PV and the San Franciscan was the perfect place for me to stay. I did have a look at a few other Resorts in and around the area but choose to stay here because I liked where the building was positioned. The San Franciscan sits at the end of a one way street. I loved the peace and quite away from the traffic noise. While choosing a place to stay, I paid close attention to and liked the above average security features such as, good solid locks and doors and CCTV System.

I found this Resort to be very quiet and comfortable. I stayed in a nice clean, 1 bed room suite with air-conditioning, kitchenette and bath tub for a very reasonable price.

I also met some of the neighbors who live here year around and found them very cheerful and friendly. Everyone here made me feel right at home. I would stay here again!

“Great Place, Great Price, Great People, Great Amenities”

Rating: 5 of 5 stars

We have stayed at the San Franciscan for the past 6 years. The owner lives there and stays on top of everything from a constantly running toilet to the pool chemicals, etc., etc. We love the feeling of security–one way in and one way out with cameras on the entry door. The apartments are very nicely furnished and include everything. linens, dishes, cookware. We really depend on the reliable, 4 bar internet access which is free as well as the free long distance telephone calls. Thank you Dave for making our home away from home so enjoyable.

“Great Place To Stay”

Rating: 4 of 5 stars

The San Franciscan is a great place for singles or couples to stay. I’m single and have stayed here and felt very safe. Great location only a block and a half to the beach, restaurants, nightlife, shopping and so much more. All of this is within walking distance. The apartments are clean and comfortable and if you need anything management is quick to respond and look after your needs. The pool area is very inviting and comfortable and a nice break from the beach when you just want to relax.

“San Franciscan Residence and Art Center”

Excellent—-Very Satisfied–The building is very quiet–so-the sleeping is very good. It has an excellent location in the heart of the Zona Romantica. Just a block and a half – straight down the street- to the beach and beach restaurants. Only two blocks from several very good restaurants. Just a few blocks and over a bridge to the “old town.”

I find the clientele very nice–a lot of “long time” residents. People would not stay here year around unless “everything” was satisfactory. It has all the amenities except a restaurant–including an elevator, nice lobby, free Vonage telephone to call the U.S. and Canada, very nice large solar heated, salt water swimming pool.. Very good “on site” management and “ownership.”

“In the heart of it all!!!!”

At the San Franciscan I can’t help but feel how lucky I am to have found this place. It is so close to everything (the beach, restaurants, clubs, markets, etc.) and yet still secluded, quiet and safe.

I have a two bedroom/two bath unit with fantastic views of Banderas Bay and Los Arcos. (mornings on the balcony having coffee or a margarita at sunset are breathtaking!) There is a well equipped kitchen although we didn’t use it very much.

I still do business in Mexico so it is very helpful to have great wi-fi and a vonage phone in the lobby.

This is not the same style as staying in an “all-inclusive” but it does have the charm and feel of Mexico. I would take this over a resort anytime. The owner is very accommodating and attentive to your needs.

Love it!! Love it!!! Love it!!!

“Perfectly located, Great amenities, Fabulous Salt Water pool”

Life is great at the San Franciscan. Love the location. As a single woman I can get everywhere so safely and they take extra care to make sure I am comfortable. One block away from the most popular street for restaurants, cafes, lounges Olas Altas and Basillio Badillo. Love that the building is located near the end of a cul-de-sac. Nice blend of traditional Mexico in the Heart of “ the happening area” full of interesting , alternative lifestyle friendly tourists from around the world.

As for the San Franciscan, lovely place. Hand painted tiles, bright white stucco style walls in the architectural tradition of Puerto Vallarta. All the rooms have full kitchens. Mine is a 2 bedroom which also has a futon couch bed in the living room. Simple furnishing to make it easy to keep clean in a tropical beach environment. I also have a coffee maker and toaster so it is easy to be lazy in the mornings before heading to the beach or pool. Strong wifi through out the apt and grounds, yeah… this can be a real pain finding good wifi while you travel. I really enjoy the San Franciscan, everyone is so friendly and I enjoy seeing familiar faces from previous visits. The owner, David, who lives on the premises goes out of his way to make sure the building is very clean, well maintained and people feel secure. Very comforting when you see how many people leave their doors open in the building and it feels like a happy trusting environment. There are no pets and children. You feel like you truly have your own home and not at all in a hotel like environment with time share salespeople and bellboys holding their hand out for tips. Super relaxing. Free long distance too and a laundry in the building.

The bed was very comfortable and enjoyed having a kitchen despite too many great places to eat around the area. During the winter months there are two great farmers markets on Sat that are top notch plus local vendors every day selling fresh produce.
Highly recommend.

“Great living at the San Franciscan”

Have been staying in this hotel for many years and for the most part, people are very friendly. The owner takes care very promptly of certain problems that may arise i.e. burnt-out light bulb, leaky drain pipe. Location can’t be beat – only 2 blocks from ocean. Very gay-friendly hotel. Salt water pool and very good size for swimming, very safe and secure hotel with many cameras installed. Beautiful sun tanning terrace by the pool and also another terrace for entertaining or playing cards. Lots of beautiful greenery – palm trees and other lush foliage. Overall, a great place to stay.

“awesome !!!!!”

I am at the San Franciscan for my second year. You will not be disappointed! The location is awesome, the building is very safe and secure, complete with a great salt water pool. The landlord bends over backwards for his tenants, all of your needs are met. I HIGHLY recommend the San Franciscan for your next “home away from home”…

“A perfect place to stay and feel like you live in Vallarta!”

I like to feel at home. That is how I felt as soon as I entered the San Franciscan. Beautiful salt water pool, garden areas with lots of quality furnishings to use my computer outside with the wifi. A very safe environment. Lots of security. As a single woman it was perfect! The apt has everything, a Mexican tile kitchen, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, TV, a better mattress than I have a home… the list goes on. The place was well designed to be easy to keep clean and comfortable while being a full apt. If there was anything I was missing in the room all I had to do is ask. Very friendly staff. The location was the best I could have imagined. One block off one of the most popular streets in all Vallarta for very friendly and safe cafes, night entertainments, top restaurants and just a couple blocks to one of my favorite casual places on the beach where you can sit all day on beach chairs and completely feel a part of an interesting community.

The other guests are very nice. This might be what I loved best, the caliber of the other guests. Some of the guests have been renting at the San Franciscan for years and could not have been more helpful with ideas and suggestions on where to go. The sense of the community was fabulous.

If you are looking for a typical travel agent type of resort, where you are away from everything, at the mercy of the hotels restaurants and cabs cost $20 to take you around Vallarta this is not the place for you. Here you are in the heart of everything and away from the nightlife noise. I like that it did not feel like a hotel where you feel every time you ask for something you need to tip someone. This place easily becomes your home with your own apt space. A great deal.

“Loved it!!”

I have been living at the San Franciscan for over two years. You could not ask for a better location. Unlimited restaurants, bars, shops and two blocks to the beach. I had a wonderful two bedroom unit that includes everything you need to make your stay comfortable including purified water which is a bonus and the salt water pool was just outside my door. David the owner lives onsite and is always there to help. I would definitely recommend staying here.
